Woopsies. Epic Games has accidentally leaked an upcoming Epic Games Store Mega Sale, and Fortnite players who set up 2FA for their accounts can get $10 to spend in the Epic Games Store!
Here's what you'll need to do to score those 10 free bucks when the Mega Sale goes live officially:
Step 1: Download a 2FA authenticator app
The first thing you'll need to do is download a mobile app called a 2FA authenticator.
We'd recommend the Myki Password Manager & Authenticator, a great 2FA authenticator that allows you to not only store your 2FA secrets, but also your passwords, cards, notes, and IDs as well.
After doing that, set up Myki by following the Getting Started process in the app.
Step 2: Set up 2FA on your Epic Games account
- First, log into your Epic Games account by visiting this link. This link will take you to the "Password & Security" section of your account page. If you aren't there, click on your account name in the top right corner and go to "Account".
- Click on the "Enable Authenticator App" button. This will open a popup dialog that contains a QR code.
In the Myki app, click on the "+" icon in the top right corner, and click on "2FA". This will open the page to set up your Epic Games 2FA.
Give the account a nickname and click on the QR code icon to scan the QR code. After you've done that, hit "Save".
- You will see a 6 digit code in the Myki app under the 2FA section. Type the code in the input field on the Epic Games website and select "Activate".
And you're done! You've successfully set up 2FA and have just unlocked $10 to spend in the Epic Games Store!
From now on, whenever you visit epicgames.com and get asked to enter your 2FA code, you can either launch the Myki app and copy and paste it manually, or install the Myki browser extension and have Myki auto-fill your password and 2FA for you.
