Now that the line between the digital and physical worlds is blurring faster than ever, can we safely say that we are just as apt to recognize risk in our virtual lives as we are on a daily basis in the real world?
Through our Recognize the Risk video series, we aim to help MSPs and their clients sharpen their ability to spot online threats and safely navigate around them.
In the first episode, we covered one of the most common ways companies get hacked: phishing emails. In case you missed it, you can watch it here.
In this second episode, we examine how online ads are being used by hackers to plant hidden traps all over the pages we browse. Believe it or not, clicking on one harmless-looking ad could lead to a set of credentials getting compromised, and potentially the entire company. But that can easily be prevented if you recognize the risk.
In addition to ensuring that everyone on your team is aware of this threat, one way you can give your organization an additional layer of protection is by using a password manager, which will only autofill credentials on legitimate webpages, but not on fraudulent ones.
