Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a great Christmas break and are refreshed and ready for 2021. Before we begin looking forward, let’s look back a little on 2020, a year that will be memorable for all the wrong reasons.
I’ve missed seeing many of you at events around the world, I’ve missed the chats in conference hotel corridors, I’ve missed sitting in sub-zero ballrooms watching vendors' quick fires, and I’ve certainly missed spending time in hotel bars with friends from all over the world. As for the hangovers, well I’ve even missed them.
I think it’s important to see the good in things though, so before we move on let’s have a quick think about the highs of last year.
MSPs of the world, we salute you
I know you guys don’t get the credit you deserve. I’ve never seen a “Thank you to my MSP” card in my local Hallmark. People generally contact MSPs when things go wrong or when they need something.
Well in the spring of 2020, SMEs around the world did need something. They needed to ensure that their entire workforce would be able to work from home, and it was MSPs who stepped up and made it happen. We should all be really proud of that.
I joined MYKI
In the context of the above, this may not seem like a big thing, but it’s something I am particularly proud of. I was obviously already aware of MYKI from various events I’d seen them at, and they had been suggested to me as an up-and-coming vendor by several different people, so I thought I’d check them out and I’m so glad I did. It’s an amazing place to work.
I feel I should point out that this paragraph is in no way related to the previous one, but 2020 was a fantastic year for MYKI. We ended 2020 with over 500 partners, which is an amazing number as we only launched MYKI for MSPs in November 2019.
This growth was possible because we grew the fantastic MYKI team and also signed distribution agreements in the Nordics and France and have more to come early in 2021. We also used the time away from events to speak to thousands of MSPs via our webinars and virtual events.
We thank every single partner who is using MYKI to protect themselves and their clients. The pressure is now on to keep that growth going in 2021 of course.
So here we are now in 2021 and it’s time to look forward. What will this year have in store? Well, I guess if 2020 did teach us anything it’s not to make too many predictions, so I will leave that to others.
But, from a MYKI perspective, we will have some VERY exciting news to share in the coming months. MSPs know that users are often described as the weak link in cybersecurity, so with that in mind, we are working to create solutions to help solve this problem.
We are also working on tools to help make it easier for you to position MYKI to your clients and help you grow your business. It’s going to be an exciting 2021.
Finally, I'd like to wish you a Happy New Year one final time; I have a strange feeling this is going to be a great one... I cannot wait to get to the first event, whenever that will be, and I look forward to seeing you all there.
