A Fresh Look for the Myki iOS App

The start of a new year is always a good time to implement some changes. So we thought we'd kick off 2019 with a fresh redesign of our iOS app.

This new design will be rolled out soon. Here are some of the most significant changes you’ll notice:

Global Item Adding

You may notice a big plus sign in the center of the bottom menu. Tapping that will allow you to add a new item of any type, no matter where you are in the app. Previously, you had to be in the Vault section to add a new item. But now, any item can be added from anywhere.

Global Search

With our new global search function, you’ll be able to filter all your items by a specific keyword. Simply type in a keyword and Myki will display only the items that contain that keyword.

Recent Section

The default section you’ll be greeted with is now the Recent section. This section displays all the items you last interacted with, whether it’s a newly added password, or a payment card you recently edited.

Categories Section

Categories used to be accessed through a menu bar up top in the Vault section, but have now been given a section of their own. From here, you’ll be able to access your passwords, 2FAs, payment cards, secure notes, IDs, and identities. You can also rearrange and hide these categories by long pressing on any of them, as well as create new ones, though that is a Pro Feature.

Devices Section

The Devices section has not changed drastically. You can still pair Myki with new devices and browser extensions from here, except both these subsections have now been consolidated into one, and devices have been renamed to “apps”.

More Section

This is what used to be the Profile section, but with an updated layout and some new additions. Security Dashboard, Password Generator, Pro Features, everything’s still there. What’s new though is the Sharing Center, which used to be its own section, and the History feature, which provides a summary of all app activity (items added, edits made, login requests received, etc.)

These are just some of the bigger changes, but there are a lot of other little tweaks we've made as well.

Make sure you check out the iOS app if you still haven't and let us know what you think of the new design!
